Joseph M. Rutledge
Senior Vice-President/Head of Construction

Mr. Rutledge joined Waterstone Development in 2003. He brings his experiences in real estate lending and construction acquired over his 30 year career to the company. Mr. Rutledge manages the design and construction of Waterstone Development's retail and office, and neighborhood amenity center projects. He recently completed Waterstone's Tuscany Market & Café project in west Austin that includes Waterstone's offices.

Prior to joining Waterstone Development, Mr. Rutledge managed his own construction company for 11 years which built both residential and commercial projects. During that time, his company was a key subcontractor for Waterstone Development. The company built the Berry Creek Swim and Tennis Center, the Avery Ranch Main Amenity Center, Avery Ranch Golf Club complex including the Club House, Tournament Pavilion, and support and maintenance buildings. It also constructed or remodeled seven bank locations including Region's Plaza, a 17,000 square foot office and bank building where Waterstone located its offices until it moved in 2008.

Prior to managing his own company, Mr. Rutledge served as an analyst for Summit Investments where he provided analysis and research for the selection and acquisition of residential and multifamily projects.
